Wusongkou Paotaiwan Wetland Forest Park

The park sits beside the Yangtze River and Paotai (a fort barbette) Moutain. It’s named “Paotaiwan” because it is where a fort barbette was built in the Qing Dynasty. The park sits between Tanghou Road and Baoyang Road, and covers an area of 120 hectares with a 2250-meter river line. Blessed with a great location where the Huangpu River meets the Yangtze River, the park is the only national wetland park in Shanghai that integrates wetland protection, popular science education, recreation, entertainment and sightseeing.

Shanghai Science and Technology Museum of the Yangtze River Estuary

The museum is in the Wusongkou Paotaiwan Wetland Forest Park and displays basic knowledge about estuary, the landform and resources in the estuaries of the Yangtze River and rivers around the world, and major science and technology projects at the Yangtze River Estuary. The sand table simulating the Yangtze River estuary, aquarium and 4D cinema are the most eye-catching and popular. The museum has become an important spot where people can enjoy the seascape and learn about estuary-related technology and culture.
