Cruises Costa Serena and MSC Splendida docked at the Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on May 29 with its passengers experiencing a speedy customs clearance procedure.
Altogether 7,400 tourists completed the customs clearance in less than three hours. They only needed to pass a channel, a set of equipment and a check to walk through the process, taking each passenger 6 seconds on average.
By the middle of last month, the international cruise terminal had received more than 1,600 cruises and over 10 million entering and exiting passengers, making China the second largest market source for cruise tourism after America.
Checks for cruise ships have been simplified to shorten the clearance time and lower the trade cost for enterprises.
