Baoshan environment shows good improvement

The average PM2.5 concentration in August in the Baoshan District of Shanghai was 35 micrograms per cubic meter. The dust fall was 3.4 tons per square kilometer for the month, down 20.9 percent from 4.3 tons last month.


Through August this year, the district's average PM2.5 concentration was 44 micrograms per cubic meter, 15.4 percent lower than the same time last year (52 micrograms per cubic meter).


Also, the dust fall decreased 14.3 percent to 4.8 tons per square kilometer for the eight months.


The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Baoshan recorded 171 fine days at 70.4 percent from January to August.
